JURMALA AIRPORT, southeast of Tukums, Latvia

The aviation history in the area starts in early 1930s, when the first hangar and workshop were constructed. During World War II an airfield was built for German Luftwaffe. After the war it was operated by the Soviet Navy. All of the airport’s technical infrastructure, runway and buildings are what was left of the former Soviet military Tukums air base. The base was completely abandoned, but in 2010 the conversion of the base to a civil airport with passenger terminals started. Currently it is a modern airport with chameleon glass facade terminal building

RIGA DOME CATHEDRAL, Dome Square 1, the Old town Riga, Latvia

The cathedral was built in year 1211 near the River Daugava. The cathedral is one of the most recognizable landmarks in Latvia. It is considered the largest medieval church in the Baltic states. It has undergone many modifications in the course of its history. In year 2011 the copper roofing above the nave was replaced. In year 2015 during the reconstruction the tower exterior was also re-plated and its wooden support structure renewed

BUDA MANOR

The building was built on artificial island in the second half of 18th century. The island connects to the rest of the world with a small bridge and rusty metal gates.  The address of Buda Manor  “Pampalu iela 1”  is embedded in metal gate design. After reconstruction the building has concrete frame design, wood and glass facades with carved wood decorative elements.
